Noushad Ali, a retired Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court has written a letter to the CJI Sharad Arvind Bobde seeking action against AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy. The former Judge said that the letter by the AP CM targeting the higher judiciary is a personal agenda, which is related to Justice NV Ramana’s order relating to hastening trial cases pending against several politicians.
The retired Judge also stated that the CM’s letter was a response to Justice Ramana having issued an order towards fast tracking of pending cases against politicians dated September 16, 2020. “The letter is liable to be treated as scandalizing the Court, attracting appropriate action,” Noushad Ali said, adding that the allegation was made in a bid to stop Justice NV Ramana from taking charge as the next Chief Justice of India.
AP CM YS Jagan is an accused in as many as thirty one cases, out of which eleven are being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation and seven are being probed by the Enforcement Directorate, the former Justice mentioned in the letter.
