In Tollywood, heroines are used as mere glamour dolls in most of the films. However, there are a few exceptions like Anushka, Nayanthara, and Samantha Akkineni who crossed the glamour border and ventured into performance territory. The majority of damsels leave the industry after a couple of flops as success is the only anchor that ties them to the industry.
One such glamour doll who debuted into TFI with Majnu is Anu Emmanuel. Her beauty and figure attracted the youth and Anu went on to bag crazy offers. She acted opposite Pawan Kalyan in Trivikram’s Agnyaathavasi which bombed at the box office. Naa Peru Surya became a miserable flop and Shailaja Reddy Alludu failed to set the cash registers ringing.
This flop streak applied breaks to her career and Anu’s craze dropped drastically. She is now working with Bellamkonda Srinivas in Alludu Adhurs under the direction of Santosh Srinivas. This action-comedy will release in the first half of 2021. Apart from it, Anu bagged a bumper offer to act in Sharwanand-Siddharth’s multi-starrer Maha Samudram directed by Ajay Bhupathi. Let’s wait and see whether these two upcoming films remove the flop actress tag of her or not.
