The Central Apex Council had arranged a meeting between the two Telugu States to sort out the tussle related to water sharing issues. Few media organizations have reported that there were heated discussions and arguments between the two states. In this context, media houses belonging to chief ministers in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh reported differently. Meanwhile, the media house of the Pink party reported that the government was successful in the Apex council meeting .However, the media organization of Jagan seemed to be careful and did not show any aggression. At the same time, they have taken care to make sure the CM’s image does not get damaged. It is learnt that Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat ensured the two states were under his control when they came for discussion. After the meeting, the statement given by the Centre had one interesting point.
When Gajendra Shekhawat offered to have a tribunal on Godavari with the consent of both states, an agitated Telangana Chief Minister KCR not only accepted the proposal but also promised to give a letter. This point was mentioned in a statement given by the Centre. Now, it is learnt that the Telangana CM in an internal review meeting realized that his decision to opt for a tribunal was a hasty decision.
It is said that KCR was alerted by his team that if a tribunal is formed, it will be a loss to Telangana. KCR realised that though some issues may be resolved with a tribunal, new issues may come to the fore. It is learnt that instead of talking on this, KCR has decided to remain mute over his promise of giving a letter.
With the Centre giving a strong, indirect message, it is learnt that the Telangana government was thinking not to go any further on what it said in the Council meeting. The TS government has understood that by giving DPR to Godavari Tribunal, there would be more disadvantages than advantages. KCR who rarely commits mistakes has not only behaved aggressively with over confidence in the meeting, but has also realised that he underestimated the Centre.
