In what could be termed a major setback for the Telangana Congress, actress politician Vijayashanti who’s also the star campaigner might call it quits. The firebrand leader’s recent meet with MoS for Home and BJP leader Kishan Reddy has strengthened the speculations. Despite, Kishan Reddy’s busy schedule, he met the Congress leader in her residence for a meeting which lasted around half an hour. It is known that Vijayashanti had been maintaining distance from party activities for a long time. However, it is still unclear when the lady superstar will join the BJP fold.
The 54-yr old Congress leader had initially quit the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2005 and had set up her own party titled Talli Telangana in 2009, which she later merged with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. Later the former Medak MP in January 2014 had joined the Congress due to differences with the TRS party leadership. Earlier, actress turned politician Khushbu Sundar too left the Congress to join the BJP.
In a fresh attack, Vijayashanti lambasted the TRS leadership of misusing police force to raid and instil fear among the BJP cadre, adding that the pink party was worried to lose Dubbaka. She even condemned the manner in which BJP Telangana spokesperson Raghunandan Rao’s relative’s residence was raided and criticised the apprehension of BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
