The seize of Raj Bhavan by TPCC leaders and workers turned violent. The march which began from Lumbini Park concluded at the Raj Bhavan amidst sloganeering against the government. At a point, violence broke out when the Congress workers clashed with the police, causing a stampede like situation. However, the situation did not go out of control as the additional security forces which were deployed in the area swooped into action. With the police being alert, no untoward incident took place, as several protesters were taken into custody.
Uttam, Komatireddy and Revanth apprehended
Police arrested Nalamada Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Anumula Revanth Reddy as they took part in the protest. Ponnala Lakshmaiah, V Hanumantha Rao, former Union Minister Balram Naik and other leaders, party workers were also arrested by the police on Tuesday. Police forces were also deployed at the Punjagutta junction and towards the route leading to Raj Bhavan. During the protest, when the police tried to arrest Congress leaders and workers, the situation turned violent.
